Platform comparison
FabriMatch vs Xometry
Xometry is a NASDAQ-listed on-demand manufacturing marketplace with instant online pricing and a large partner network, and it serves EU buyers through Xometry Europe. It sets one price per part and allocates the job to a partner. FabriMatch matches you to a named producer and shows its fee as a separate line. The real difference is how much of your payment stays with the platform, and whether you can see it.

Frequently asked questions
Where does the 34.7% figure come from?
From Xometry's Form 10-K for fiscal year 2025: its marketplace segment had a 34.7% gross margin. Gross margin is what remains of the buyer's payment after Xometry pays the supplier, shipping and other direct costs — so it is the platform's share of the money, not an estimate of ours.
Is FabriMatch's 10% comparable to that number?
Close to it, and we state the difference. Our fee is 10% of the producer's quote, so it is 9.1% of what you pay in total. Shipping is quoted separately on FabriMatch, while Xometry's gross margin is measured after shipping costs, so the comparison does not flatter us.
Is Xometry cheaper for my part?
Sometimes. A platform with a large network and instant pricing can land a lower total on a standard part. Upload the same CAD file to both and compare the landed price. What a single-price quote cannot show you is how that price splits between the producer and the platform; ours does.
Why would I use a younger platform?
Because you want a named producer you can escalate to directly, a fee you can see, and EU and Chinese capacity on one invoice format. If none of that matters and you want the fastest instant price, Xometry is a reasonable choice.
